چکیده

Industrial use of azo dyes has been linked to severe environmental damage in the textile and apparel sectors. The breakdown products many are poisonous mutagenic, posing a threat human health environment. Hence, dye wastewater bioremediation is gaining interest. objective this study was focused on biodegradation an dye, Reactive Orange 16 (RO16), anaerobic continuous tank reactor operated with digested sludge sample. used as organic agent for dye. aim investigate fate RR16 during degradation process. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometry (GC-MS) identify RO16 metabolites their corresponding molecular weight. As result, RO showed about 85.91% decolorization capacity, were detected pentanoic acid phenol after seven days incubation. mechanism completed bond successfully cleaved based result GC-MS, proposed pathway described. palm oil enzymes may provide new avenues biological waste treatment, especially bioremediation.

Biodecolorization and Biodegradation of Azo Dye Reactive Orange-16 by Marine Nocardiopsis sp.

Background: Azo dyes are xenobiotic compounds that have bioaccumulated in the environment due to escalated industrial development. These are hazardous in nature, possessing carcinogenic and mutagenic effects on human beings. Objectives: The perspective of the present study was to isolate and to determine azo dye (Reactive Orange-16) degrading potential of...

Biodegradation of Hexamethylenetetramine in Anaerobic Baffled Reactor

Due to its structure, hexamethylenetetramine (HMT) is a slowly biodegradable substance, hydrolysing in acid environment to ammonium and formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is toxic under normal conditions for biological treatment processes. Following an adaptation, a formaldehyde concentration of 1000 mg·l may become biodegradable both in aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Acidic conditions for hydrolysi...

Biodegradation of redox dye Methylene Blue by up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the decolorization of Methylene Blue (MB) by an up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor. The UASB reactor was operated under batch condition with total treatment volume of 3l and operation time of 24 h per batch. It was found that the color of MB disappeared within a few minutes after entering into the UASB reactor due to reduction by anaerobic...

Biodegradation of high concentrations of phenol by baker’s yeast in anaerobic sequencing batch reactor

Background: Phenol, as a pure substance, is used in many fields because of its disinfectant, germicidal, local anesthetic, and peptizing properties. Aqueous solutions of phenol are produced as waste in industries and discharged into the environment. Therefore, elevated concentrations of phenol may be found in air or water because of industrial discharge or the use of phenolic products. Method: ...

Behavior of Natural Estrogens in Activated Sludge: Biodegradation in Semicontinuous Reactor under Aerobic, Anaerobic and Sequential Anaerobic/Aerobic Conditions

The behavior of natural estrogens was examined by separately spiking 17β-estradiol (E2) and estrone (E1) into semicontinuous activated sludge reactors operated under aerobic, anaerobic and sequential anaerobic/aerobic conditions. Under aerobic and anaerobic conditions, E1 was formed from E2. The conversion of E1 to E2 was maximum conversion of E2 to E1 was higher than t E1 to E2. Overall, the d...
